Reflex XTR problems on Windows 7 Pro (XP Mode)

by jimixter » Fri Nov 27, 2009 9:35 am

Hi all,

I don't know if anyone has tried this yet, but I am trying to run Reflex XTR on my new (only) Windows 7 Professional 64-bit machine (within the XP Mode Virtual Machine), but am having problems. I get the error message:

"Cannot find Direct-3D-Driver!"

As such, the simulator will not even open. I have downloaded the latest DirectX drivers from the Microsoft website, and have looked at the only other existing forum post I have found on this matter at:

http://www.rotory.com/fusionbb/showtopi ... tid/63866/

However, this solution did not work. I have also tried emailing support via http://www.reflex-sim.de but I see this is no longer supported?

I suspect the problem may be due to the graphics card / drivers installed in the Windows 7 machine not being shared with the XP Mode Virtual Machine. Does anyone have any ideas? I would love to get this working as it is a great simulator....

Which version of Reflex XTR are you trying to run?

I'm running Reflex XTR v5.5 on Windows 7 x64, no problems here.

Becuase the XP Virtual Machine is virtualised, it will not have access to any DirectX features of the graphics card. Have you tried installing straight into Windows 7?
