Orange T6 Tx

A spektrum Dx6i clone but at an incredable price. It won't take DSMx though.

Well if the Orange rxes are anything to go by, it should be pretty good.

And at least you'll be able to find it in the dark! 8)

I'd buy it if I needed a new one

My thoughts exactly. I'd buy one for that money if I lost/broke/sold my DX7

Having never used an orange tx or rx I cannot comment really, but I think it would look better on the top of the Xmas tree rather than under it.
Cannot do DSMx I think but all dx6i's DSM2's can be upgraded I understand.
Even at cheaper price I think when you buy quality it lasts longer and I'm told DSMx is really good over DSM2.

For flying in general/control and range, i doubt you will ever notice any difference, in fact from that point of view no one will, dsm2 is more than good enough for most.

unless you specifically "want" dsmX , then these DSM2 ones will be fine.

same as anything, some people like to move forward, same as 35Mhz, still good, most of our club still use 35Mhz, only a few of us use 2.4Ghz.

As I rarely fly with more than 100 other fliers, I think I'll take the risk and stick with DSM2 for now

But you never know - I might change my mind when I get invited to give a demo at the 3D Masters

If I was asked to give a demo at the masters it would be a miracle and I would need golf clubs.
I think the local flying clubs near Birmingham have seemingly gone through a bad patch.
Maybe it's just the winter blues causing hibernation.
I look forward to seeing something flying local one day.

Hi

The club I'm in (Woodspring Wings) decided that for 2013 the show (http://www.woodspringshow.co.uk) will be 2.4ghz only, for the first time. Things do seem to take a long time to change, but then if you had expensive 35mhz gear, it would be hard to see the point in changing it just because 2.4 is the newest thing.

The T6 Does have an advantage over the DX6i in that it takes a LiPo Battery making it club legal.. :)

Anyway most dsmx rx's are backwardly compatible with dsm2 Tx's.
The orange TX will just not do the DSMx to DSMx thing.

I'd buy one If my DX6i broke.

i find it laughable that clubs enforce that rule concerning the DX6i and its batteries.

I thought they were proper bonkers at the time that it came out about the DX6i and its Batteries.
But my DX6i battery door falls off now and again. Just through years of use, So they may be onto something.

I have to force the batts out of my 4 year old DX6i. I could take the back off and shake it until Christmas without one falling out 8)

bit late jumping in here but my dx6i is the same, you have to use a fair bit of force to remove the batterys. i would quite happily use mine with no battery cover on and not even consider the batterys might fall out.

so is that why clubs dont like people using a tx that runs on AA's? in case the batterys fall out? never heard of that rule. but then,i dont have anything to do with clubs either . i fly alone, with my own rules and thats the way i like it!

i would consider buying the orange tx if i broke the dx6i or whatever. i use exclusively orange rx's and have never had an issue with one of them so have no reason to think the tx would be any different. also my dx6i is an older one,as in no dsmx so the orange tx would suit my models fine.

i may even get one anyway. as my 6i is currently full. its a more viable option for me to have this tx for more models than upgrading to a dx7 or 8 (which id rather do!)

will be a pain having to take 2 tx's to the field though!

The 9xr comes with no module installed, you can stick in an orange tx module so it works with dms2 kit, don't think it works with dmsx though, also seen nothing to suggest it would work with the model memory tech that spektrum use.
