Heliartist AH 64 Apache

by Anti_A » Tue Oct 12, 2010 8:58 pm

Finally bit the bullet and got one, now I need a 500 size heli (c:

It's going to be a winter project as I want to really bling it up scale wise so rather than post stuff here I have it on my website so check there for updates but it's going to take a while.

I had a trip to see a mate at Middle Wallop and had a nice close up encounter and lots of photos (more coming and a flight mechanics dvd woohoo!).

Any comments here about the build as it goes along would be welcome.

nothing new yet, waiting for the trg manual and flight mechanics dvd and another few hundred photos coming.

one question though I'm debating about the tail, the fuse has it on the right to accomodate the 500 tail box, should I re-model the tail to have it on the proper side?

Forget the 500, get some really BIG servos and and couple of car batteries and hook them up to the real Apache - now that's cooking with gas!

Glad you managed to get so close to the real thing, i was in the Army and at Brize for some reason or other when the first 2 (i think) were delivered and sat on the skirt so another guy and I went for a little sneak preview and before we knew it were surrounded by RAF police and dogs (dogs were in charge i think due to intelligence levels  )

We argued that as we were in the Army they were in fact ours but they were having none of it

Got a nasty welt from the slapped wrist for that one

Keep the info comming mate.
