Plug one of the motors in the other way. By that I mean swap + and - to the motor.

Steve.

Hi,
simply reverse the connections to one of the motors. Usually the top rotors spin clock wise and the bottom rotors counter clockwise.

ive reversed the positive and negative on one of the motors and now the blades are spinning in opposite directions but it will only lift an inch off the floor with a fully charged battery! ive even ordered 3 pairs of motors from separate suppliers and they all do the same.......only thing i can think of is that everyone is sending the wrong motors for the 5g6-1, are they different to the standard 5g6? the original ones that came with the helli have a stamp on them saying 'wkl04' which i assume means they are genuine walkera......all the other motors i order from different suppliers (which are sold as genuine walkera) dont have any stamp on them just a sticker on the side saying 'high performance'.....any ideas? i really dont know what to do as ive got a helicopter ive only flown a few times that i cannot get working for love nor money.

How about the lipo, do you have more than one?

Another thing to closely check is the condition of both gears for any damaged teeth

I just had a look on Terence's site and see Walkera changed the pinions on the motors between the 5G6 and 5G6-1 and no longer supplies the old type, so may be an idea to fit the pinions from the old motors.

If that doesn't work, you can still buy original 5G6 motors and suitable third party pinions:
http://www.chinesejade.com/walkera5g6.htm

With a bit of luck though swapping the pinions will be all that's needed - let us know how you get on
Cheers,

Dusty

wish it was that easy bought new motors because the pinions on the old motors stripped...after checking the pinions on both gears are the same....they must be under powered motors!....all i can think of

To be certain whether they are different motors or not, I would ask here - you'll probably get a reply from Terence who will know for sure.

Personally my money is still on the gears, particularly considering the pinions were damaged enough to be unusable.

but all the gear teeth are perfect (not 1 damaged) and the motor pinions are meshed properly with out making contact with the wrong gear!

listened to what you said about your money being on the gears and stripped them down again. i noticed that the teeth on the upper gear were slightly square (only a tiny bit) then put it back together.....after putting it back together it lifted about 6 inches off the ground before then going back down to the usual inch as before. so i think you might be right about it being a gear problem. do you think if i replace the gears it will cure the problem?

after unplugging and plugging in the motors so much the plastic surround on the reciever that the motor plugs go into have now come away from the reciver and snapped one of the pins so im now left with a knackerd reciever! should this be covered by warranty? there was only a tiny bit of glue holding them on which came away really easy! only had the thing 2weeks and now its useless. going to send it back to where i bought it. surely this shouldnt of happened so easly and be covered by warranty. Any thoughts?

Nope, not if you broke it. I use a small flat blade screwdriver to gently tease these plugs out as I wouldn't expect them to be very strong

The pin itself will have of course been soldered to the circuit board and not held on with glue - you could always solder it back on
